The invention claimed in this application by the Founder and CEO, Travis Kalanick, allows consumers with smartphones to submit a trip request, which the software program then automatically sends to the Uber driver nearest to the consumer, alerting the driver to the location of the customer.
The images highlighted in this patent show the full journey in action from signalling a user's intent to be picked up, to viewing the driver details and then paying and rating their experience. A simple and elegant proposition captured by a clean and minimalist design.
